5/4/17 Website Reflection

I had an ok experience with Weebly. I liked how the other Wix websites looked better though. I wish I would have gotten some more experience playing around with Wix because the finished project looks really cool. I would definitely use these tools to create a website in the future. My two favorite websites were Jillian's and Jackson's because they were very organized and easy to navigate. The best websites I found were made with Wix.

I have created a website using Weebly my freshman year. We had to make a website/blog for a book we read and I did mine on Looking For Alaska by John Green. I had an easy experience and a good grade! I have decided to use Weebly to create my website because I already have experience with it. I will do my website about Orchestra because we do not have a website for it.

I enjoyed this project because I discovered new apps and how I could use them to benefit me. I also learned more things about the apps that I thought I already knew. I liked learning about smart tools because you can mess around on your phone even more. It sounds fun to find out new things about the things around me.

I use apps on my phone every day and I can't imagine life without them. Most all of them make my life easier (except the few that distract me but those make life a little more enjoyable). I use my apps to listen to music and I think that would be the hardest for me not to have.

4/3/17 Weekend

This weekend I went to prom. We had a group of 20 people and we had dinner at Brio on the Plaza. The dance was held at the Ironwoods Park Barn and I helped decorate it earlier that day. My cousin did my hair and Kate did my makeup. Overall, my weekend went very well despite how tired I felt the next day (I almost fell off the balcony at church but it's fine).

3/31/17 NCAA Reflection

What do formulas on Google Docs & Sheets. I have learned that most people cheer for Kansas as well. Yes, I had filled out a bracket previous to this class. I followed the Kansas games, but I always do that. I have learned how to do formulas through this assignment.

3/30/17 Movies and TV Shows

The last movie I remember watching was The Boss with Melissa McCarthy. I would not recommend it. It wasn't very interesting and it moved really slow. My favorite movie though is The Sound Of  Music. It has a great soundtrack lead by Julie Andrews and is perfect for every mood. The plot is not predictable like other current movies and it's interesting to see how historically accurate the movie is and how it ties into the events of that time. For a TV show I would recommend Prison Break.

3/21/17 Spring Break

Over spring break I went to Marco Island, Florida with my family and two other families. We rented a house that was walking distance to the beach and it had it's own dock and pool. One of my favorite things we did was go air boating which was where I saw this here gator. We also rented bikes in Naples and saw all the really nice, big houses. The best restaurant we went to was an Italian restaurant. Everybody got pizza except I got cheese ravioli and it was super good.

3/02/17 Infographic Peer Feedback

Jackson's infographic looked professionally done. His use of colors and logos matching each other really pulled it all together. All in all, it really added something to his blog, making it the best one I have ever seen in my entire life. He should be a professional blogger. Sal's could use some work but overall it was an improvement of  him. Chris on the other hand, just kidding on the same hand, had a difficult time with his infographic as well. I wish it wouldn't have been so obvious but I'm not going to sugar coat it, it was. I hope to see some improvement for Sal and Chris and I honestly hope they can be as good as Jackson one day.

Overall this project was very time consuming but taught some good computer skills. It taught me patience and integrity along with perseverance and courage. I plan on utilizing these resources again someday in my personal life and school career.

 This is the original picture I used to edit on an app called "Cut Me In". I like this app because it is easy to use, although you do have to purchase quite a bit of it to make it worth your time. The benefits of the purchase are pretty hilarious and the possibilities are endless!

My friend Aubree took this picture of me at the world war one museum downtown when she was in town from South Carolina. This is the original picture I used to edit on the app called "PhotoGrid". I usually use this app for collages but considering the assignment was to try new things, I branched out and unlocked the potential of the app. 

 I took this picture on an IPhone 4 and I am very proud of it. It was taken in Hawaii when I was in 8th grade. My brother, Mark (pictured holding the lizard), caught this creature on the hose outside our beach front house at the Bellows Air force Station. I googled "photo editor" and the first free option that came up was "Be Funky". Overall I liked this website the best out of all the programs I used in the duration of this assignment. It was extremely easy to use and I loved the result I got out of it considering how much time I put into it.

2/27/17 Infographic Reflection

I learned that infographics take a long time to make even though once they are done, they help visualize information and statistics very well. They are very fun to look at but take a long time to create. I somewhat enjoyed making one. It took a very long time but in the end I think it looks decent. I would use an infographic for more of a creative project in school. I used Piktochart to make my infographic. It was pretty easy to use although sometimes it was difficult, it just took a little getting used to. If I had to make another infographic I would be open to other websites but now that I have some experience with Piktochart, I might use that.

 An infographic is a visual that is created to help organize information. It makes data easy to read and also helps make it enjoyable.  The purpose of an infographic is to make the information presented the most visually appealing and entertaining as possible.  Factual information is best presented in an infographic. The less words, the better. An infographic can help make your audience interested in the information you are presenting. It transforms information into an interesting visual. An infographic can easily be used as a class assignment to demonstrate information or statistics about a topic.

2/21/17 Canva vs. Lucid Press

Lucid Press is a disgrace to the internet and all do it yourself websites. It is very difficult to use and is not user friendly. Canva is much easier to use and looks a lot better when you finish your project. 2 pros of Canva are how easy it is to use and how it doesn't take much effort to make it look presentable. Canva created the nicest, trendiest documents by far. Lucid Press is no match for Canva. I never messed around with the features that I could buy vs that were free. Things you could buy in Canva were very meticulous like stickers. I thought it was silly to spend a dollar to use a certain clip art image. It is no secret that I think Lucid Press is trash. Whenever I was working with the images they would always open up a certain window, which was very frustrating.

2/16/17 Dream Business

My business is an event planning business. I will own venue such as barns or outdoor landscapes for people to have events at. They pay me to use the space and prepare it for their event such as decorations and all accommodations. It's a one stop service instead of having to go to many different vendors for individual needs. Using LucidPress, I created a business card, flyer and banner for my business. I would have many different locations as shown in my flyer.

2/13/17 Sweetheart & Extra Canvas

I did not attend the sweetheart game at Southwest because I was making some decorations for the dance. Planning on adding another tab to my blog for decoration ideas and to look back at old ones. The day started at 7 when I woke up to go set up decorations. The entire morning was spent managing student council and decorating for sweetheart. All went well except for a mooooon incident, but that's a different story (with a funny ending). The decorations didn't end up exactly how I wanted them but in the end were good enough. Then I went to go pick up the boutonniere with the bf. Had some taco bell for lunch and it was fantastic. The best part of the whole day was how nice the weather was.

 I would use this canva to help organize my schedule while making it look good. I might put my schedule like this for more of a long term schedule for a club or organization or just for more people. I wouldn't put that much work into a fancy looking schedule if it was just for me.

I would use this canva for something I could use to personalize maybe a binder. I would maybe make it into a poster or put it on my wall. I used one of my favorite bible verses that I already keep in my car.

I could use this canva to take notes or use for small things I need like reminders or notes to friends and family.

2/10/17 ET Course Reflection & Personal Report Card

As of now, my grades are doing well. In emerging tech I couldn't be doing better. I have learned many new ways to organize and different websites to use to do that. My goal was to go to the gym more often but last week I was very busy preparing for sweetheart; I didn't even have time to watch the bachelor until Sunday. My organization for that was pretty good but could have been better considering I did a lot of it the night before. School grades are all A's except for a borderline in physics.

2/9/17 Kids These Days

Kids these days, am I right. Always criticizing your flow, and don't get me started on their trash music. J. Cole=trash. Kanye... also trash.You would never guess the secret meaning behind all their songs. They name their songs acronyms so they can hide the dirty meanings from us 70 and 80 year olds. They even dress funny; they're almost like an entirely different species of human because they don't even really look like us anymore. Just the other day I heard one talking about how "lit" their vacations were. (I won't go into detail about what happens when they are on vacation)

2/6/17 Collaborating Remotely

I didn't think the partner project was going to be difficult but it would have been nicer to actually talk to them in person. If we were really in different states I think I would have used a few other methods but since we were in the same room we just used email and google docs. I think I would be able to conduct business without seeing them in person but I would have a preference to see them in person. I learned that sometimes we take communicating in person for granted.

1/31/17 Words for Teenagers

I thought the tone of the passage was very harsh and direct. Not all teenagers are alike and what is life without a little fun? This is directed at a stereotype of all the lazy teenagers but it should be directed at everyone. It makes me feel offended because I try to be productive and not party all day. I agree that people should be productive but they should also save some time for fun. 

1/30/17 Ted Talk Reflection

I agree with the Ted Talk in the fact that it is easy to become isolated when you're on your phone all the time. Although it may seem that you are more connected, you have to spend more time isolated to talk to people who aren't there in person, often causing whoever you are around to be more isolated as well. I will try to live in the moment more and pay attention to the people around me instead of isolating myself on my phone.

• Do you have a different understanding of Social Bookmarking after reading this article? I think there are many more options for social bookmarking than I originally thought.
• Do you think social bookmarking is a helpful & beneficial tool? I think social bookmarking has the ability to be very beneficial but you have to know how to use it. Considering there are so many different ways to do it, I'm sure it will be easy to find a way that works for each person.
• Did you learn about any new social bookmarking sites that you would like to start using? I do not prefer to explore any new options for social bookmarking because I already have a method that works for me. It is difficult to find too many options that you want to use because then you have to update all of them and it is a lot more work than just finding one method that works for you.

1/26/17 Chrome & Symbaloo

Compare & contrast these two bookmarking options.  Which one did you like the best? Is there a time when one would be better than the other?
Symbaloo requires a little bit of experience and definitely takes little getting used to. I like Chrome so far the best but only because I know how to use it. Symbaloo is useful for grouping things together. I like how you can always see everything instead of read the name of the website. I would say you can use whichever one you like best. There isn't a specific time when one would be better than the other- it's whatever you like personally.

This weekend I went to the gym and saw my man Chris. He talked to us about his rap music and his DJ career as we were doing some ab workouts. I also went to Bo Lings and had some rockin crab Rangoon. On Sunday I went to church and made myself some meat. Then I put some cheese on the meat. I didn't have hardly any homework so I just read my book and went to bed.

1/17/17 Prezi Reflection

Which tool do you think is easier to use? Why? I think PowerPoint is easier to use just because I have more experience with it. Prezi has a lot of moving parts and isn't part of the Microsoft family of word, excel, etc. so it's harder to get a hang of the program.

Which tool creates the more effective presentations? Explain. For a more formal environment, a  PowerPoint would be more effective and appropriate but  a Prezi is easier to make more entertaining.

Is there a specific presentation time when one tool would be better than the other? Explain. In an assignment where you would have more creative freedom, a Prezi would be more entertaining. PowerPoint would be better for a more strict rubric.

Which tool would you choose to use the next time you create a presentation? I will most likely use PowerPoint because for a school assignment I would rather play it safe and go more formal as opposed to a more free spirited Prezi.
